Seaweeds are our forgotten flora. They can be iridescent, rainbow-coloured, slimy, hard, delicious or poisonous. They are used as food, stock feed, medicines and fertilisers, and in toothpaste, ice-cream and jelly. Seaweeds generate billions of dollars each year. John Huisman, curator of the WA Herbarium, will change the way we think about our oceans.
