Date:  Friday 12-Nov-2021
Single session (Ended)
Time 9:00am for 1 hr
Venue: Glyde-In Garden Room
Facilitator: Peter Veth

Peter discusses some of the revised dates of the production of rock art and Aboriginal occupation in WA. He puts this in the context of wider studies from northern Australia and Wallacea, the transitional zone between the great Indo-Malaya and Australian biogeographical realms. He looks at peoples' ongoing traditions linked to these sites and the current reforms to the WA Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act. Given these archaeological and social values, he then examines how well they are protected under state legislation.
