Bus trip: The evening will start with dinner at Kalamunda Hotel (at own cost) followed by a magnificent tour of the Bickley Observatory. Astronomers say the best time for viewing our southern skies is during winter with the planets and the galactic centre passing overhead, revealing many deep-sky treasures that you can''t see in summer. We have chosen a moonlit night with a 1/2 moon to enable us to see details on the moon as well as other celestial objects. In the event of cloud or rain on the night you will be taken an amazing guided tour of the Observatory. You can also explore the observatory museum with historical instruments, the meteorite exhibit, astrophotographs & artworks. Dress for the cold and wear comfy shoes. Bus departs 4pm.
