Do you feel you have a book or a short story in you but don't know how to begin? Over four weeks Rosemary, author and writing teacher, will cover the basics of writing the first draft of a short story or novel. You will start with how to begin writing: where ideas come from, style, why you should read, redrafting and more. Then you'll learn how to create convincing characters and let your characters reveal themselves through writing a scene. Then it's the plot: rising and falling action and the climax in constructing a gripping storyline. Finally you'll put it all together in a short story. Optional homework with the opportunity for feedback. Suitable for beginner to intermediate writers. Bring your ideas, questions and a notebook or laptop with you.
