From 1973 to 2017 Patrick Baker was specialist photographer for the Western Australian Museum's Department of Maritime Archaeology. In fact most of the display photographs at Fremantle's WA Shipwrecks Museum were taken by Pat. For 44 years he recorded the Museum team's endeavours above and below the waters of Western Australia. In this richly illustrated talk Pat will share his experiences on some of the 50 or so WA wrecks he has recorded, including the 'Batavia' (1629), 'Rapid' (1812) and 'James Matthews' (1841), all of them rich "time capsules" dating from the exact date of their wrecking.
