From the iconic calls of the Black Cockatoos to the comical expression of the White Ibis, the wild birds in our community provide a unique character, more so than buildings. All sorts of birds survive in the western suburbs, but there are winners and losers. We can help to support the losers with appropriate garden and urban design. Engaging the community in conservation is easier if people feel a personal connection with the natural world.
